L'Argentine pleure cette paysanne dont l'ascension fulgurante et le combat pour la defense des pauvres ont modifie le cours de son histoire. Ce film opera evoque la vie de cette femme qui connut selon Alan Parker "une destinee personnelle incroyablement originale et une histoire politique extraordinairement forte".
